The strategy has been scrutinized by privileged bunches for a considerable length of time and seems, by all accounts, to be on the ascent as the public authority says it is clamping down on what it alludes to as extremist Islam. This follows a concise period where the Uzbek specialists began facilitating past firm stance strategies towards religion.
In June, it was accounted for that the Uzbek government reviewed understudies of Islamic investigations in Egypt and Turkey as a feature of endeavors to control and confine specific translations of Islam not authorized by the State.
In December of last year, the US State Department eliminated the Central Asian country from its uncommon perception list for infringement of strict opportunity, as the public authority was considered as presently not occupied with or endured “serious infringement of strict opportunity”. Uzbekistan had recently been assigned as a Country of Particular Concern from 2006 to 2017 and was moved to a Special Watch List in 2018 and 2019.
Notwithstanding, as indicated by its 2020 Report on International Religious Freedom, it was observed that Uzbekistan kept on driving Muslim men to shave their whiskers and to keep ladies from wearing the hijab in schools and workplaces.
